BIOGRAPHY

​

Kaiti Bachman is a Summa Cum Laude 2023 graduate from the Boston Conservatory with a BFA in Contemporary Dance and an emphasis in Composition and a minor in Psychology. Kaiti Bachman grew up in Northern Virginia and began dancing at the age of three. She studied theater for six years and originated the role of Pandora in the children’s play “Pandora’s Fire” by Judith White in 2014. She started her dance training at the local dance school, and in high school attended the Ballet Conservatory at BalletNova under the direction of Constance Walsh and Matthew Powell. In 2018 she was accepted into the Inaugural Kennedy Center Contemporary Master Class Series and took classes from companies performing at the Kennedy Center. During her summers she attended many summer programs including the Point Park University International Summer Dance, Joffrey Ballet School, and Interlochen Academy Summer Dance Intensive. In 2019 Kaiti began attending the Boston Conservatory at Berklee as a Contemporary Dance Major. In her years at Boston Conservatory she performed in “cantati li me canti (sing my songs)” by Christopher Kinsey in Winterworks, “Starshine + Clay” by T.Lang in From The Ground Up, “Gale Force Winds” by Brian Brooks in From The Ground Up, and the Berklee Signature Series shows “Great American Songbook: Fearless- The Music of Taylor Swift” and “Singers Showcase: I'm Still Standing—A Tribute to Elton John”. She also choreographed and performed in Berklee’s renowned Commencement concert in 2022.

Kaiti began to find her choreographic voice while at the conservatory. In 2020 She choreographed “As Skin Breathes” and co-choreographed “What About Now”: dance films featured in the WinterWorks Film Festival at Boston Conservatory. “As Skin Breathes” was selected as a featured film at the Dance Complex in Boston, MA. In 2022 she was hired as a Berklee Present Assistant Choreographer, creating dances for live concerts to be performed in the Berklee Performance Center. In 2023 her work “Flicker, Flash, & Flare” was performed on the Boston Conservatory mainstage. ​

She is in her first season with Gin Dance Company, a recent recipient of  the Dolly Vogt Community Arts Award.

Kaiti Bachman is a choreographer and artist who utilizes classical technique to create contemporary and jazz choreography that explores dynamics, identity, and individuality. She strives to create work that reflects humanity, joy, and sensuality. She is excited to see where the rest of her dance journey will take her.
